Hi, I’m Matthew Skaza, a Class of 2027 student athlete at Chicopee Comprehensive High School. I’m a multi-sport athlete and mainly play DB and OLB in football, but I’ve also played multiple positions on both sides of the ball in varsity games.

I’m currently 5'11", 163 pounds and still working on getting bigger, stronger and faster. Along with football, I compete in indoor and outdoor track, mainly running hurdles and relays. Track has helped me improve my speed, footwork and conditioning, which all carry over to football.

During my 2025-2026 junior football season, I finished with 3 interceptions, including a pick-six, 3 tackles for loss and 1 fumble recovery. I also had over 120 kickoff return yards. I’m comfortable playing wherever my team needs me and have experience on both sides of the ball.

After the season, I was named to the All-Western Massachusetts Second Team and the PVIAC Suburban South First Team All-League.

In track, I compete in the 110m and 400m hurdles as well as relay events. During the 2026 outdoor season, I ran personal bests of 19.34 in the 110m hurdles and 1:08.05 in the 400m hurdles. I was also part of the 4x100 relay that ran 46.44. During indoor track, I ran a 7.42 in the 55m and a 10.56 in the 55m hurdles.

Going into my senior season, I was selected as one of five captains for the 2026-2027 football season. I’m looking forward to continuing to improve and doing whatever I can to help my team win.

I’m a physical corner who likes to compete, make plays and go after the ball. I’m not afraid to tackle and I take a lot of pride in playing defense.
